⚡ Chase Surgical was established to deliver effective and pragmatic training for surgical residents during the early stages of their development. We focus on basic skills which are so important to master and on which more advanced skills are very reliant. We design and produce our own low cost simulation models and offer training using these models to demonstrate techniques.
By signing up to our website you’ll have full access to community boards and free content.
We offer face to face courses in certain general surgical skills. These include foundation skills, such as suturing, tying, abscess drainage and excision of skin and sub cutaneous lesions, along with more advanced skills in GI surgical techniques. Our face to face courses run in Staffordshire however we also offer virtual courses using our YouTube channel with instructional videos augmented with live tutorials using MS Teams.
WELCOME
Chase Surgical Ltd was established by myself, David Luke. I am a consultant General Surgeon in the NHS with a subspecialist interest in Colorectal Surgery, and my main elective scope of practice is inflammatory bowel disease surgery.
I spent 20 years in the British Army, first as a surgical trainee and then a military consultant surgeon and during this time had significant exposure to, and developed a professional interest in the surgical management of trauma and emergency surgery. My main educational interest is dedicated to training and education in early years surgical residents.
Chase Surgical is committed to an ethos of focusing on the basics. We design and produce simulation models which we use in our video demonstrations and these are also available to UK residents who attend our face to face or virtual courses.
Our virtual courses are augmented by video tutorials along with Q&A sessions on Ms Teams with a Consultant trainer.
Upcoming face to face courses and availability of simulation models will be announce in newsletter and via social media sites.
We trialled our GI Surgery Lite boards yesterday on a course at University Hospital of North Midlands and they proved their usefulness. We actually used them for laparoscopic skills training and delegates were able to do patch repair of DU along with stapled and hand sewn anastomoses, all laparoscopically. I’ve now added a page link…
Hi, it’s been a while since I have posted, or, in fact, updated website, however I’m going to start using it more regularly. I’ve refined our models and soon the GI Surgery Lite model and associated courses will be available. The courses will be available to UK residents however, if you’re not in the UK…
You can now book a place on our virtual anastomosis course. Link to the booking page is below or click on the virtual course tab on the website. 🙏 https://chasesurgical.org/courses/virtual-gi-anastomosis-course/

Great day. Friendly and supportive facilitators, which enabled trainees of variable grades and abilities to learn. Great facilities. Lots of time to practice. Great value for money.
